Prostate Cancer: About Prostate Cancer
The prostate is a walnut-sized gland located just below the bladder. It produces the majority of the fluid found in semen and also helps to expel semen during ejaculation. Prostate cancer arises from cells in the prostate gland and can then spread to other parts of the body, most commonly to the lymph nodes and bones.
Unfortunately the cause of prostate cancer remains unknown, but researchers believe that genetic changes within prostate cells result in the abnormal growth of these cells and eventually lead to cancer.
