Membership

Membership in the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) is available to Columbia University faculty (Assistant, Associate, or Professor level) with interests in cancer, cancer-related research, clinical trials and cancer training, and who meet the criteria outlined below. Applications for membership are subject to the approval of the HICCC Membership Committee and the Cancer Center Leadership Team. The HICCC Membership Committee and Cancer Center Leadership Team evaluate new membership applications on a bi-monthly basis and review the entire membership annually.

Benefits of HICCC Membership

HICCC membership provides investigators with:

  • Access to HICCC Shared Resources at favorable rates.
  • Opportunity for clinical research support for protocol management.
  • Funding opportunities:
    • Pilot projects for HICCC Members.
    • Developmental fund to support the development of Program Projects, SPORES or Training Grants in cancer research.

Responsibilities of HICCC Membership

  • Participation in HICCC Program meetings and activities.
  • Provision of updates relating to scientific accomplishments: biosketches, publications, grant support, clinical protocols, and other information that may be needed to fulfill requirements for designation as an NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
  • Acknowledgement of HICCC Shared Resource facilities, space, or support, when appropriate, in research publication.
