Overview

Thomas C Randall, MD is a gynecologic oncologist focused on meeting the individual needs and goals of women with gynecologic cancers. Dr. Randall provides care for all gynecologic cancers and for women at increased risk for gynecologic cancers. He has a particular focus on providing safe surgical care for women with gynecologic cancers, including advanced or recurrent ovarian cancer, uterine, cervical and vulvar cancer. Dr. Randall also performs surgery for complex gynecologic conditions. He has extensive experience and expertise in minimally invasive surgeries, and he has performed over 1000 surgeries with the DaVinci surgical robot. Additionally, Dr. Randall has expertise in radical cancer surgeries, including fertility sparing surgeries for gynecologic cancers.

Dr. Randall studied at Bowdoin College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors in English Literature and won the College Prize for Bowdoin from the Academy of American Poets. He then attended Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Next, he completed his fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Randall practiced gynecologic oncology and gynecologic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and the Massachusetts General Hospital before coming to Columbia.

Dr. Randall is a leader in global health. He is the Chair of the Mentorship and Training Committee of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society, which supports 22 gynecologic oncology fellowships in low- and middle-income countries where gynecologic cancer surgery was not previously available. He also serves as an international mentor for gynecologic oncology fellowships in Haiti and Rwanda.
