Research
I am the manager of HICCC Transgenic Mouse Shared Resource (TMSR) managing the production of genetically modified and transgenic mice for Columbia University researchers. I implemented BAC recombineering as a tool to generate gene targeting vectors, and to modifiy BAC for BAC transgenic mouse production. My staff and I started to test CRISPR/Cas genome editing approaches in 2014 and are in the process of optimizing the CRISPR HDR repair in mice. My lab studies genes involved in retinal degeneration. We are particular interested in the point mutations that cause the degeneration of photoreceptors.
Research Interests
- Retinal degeneration genes, focus on point mutations causing degeneration of photoreceptors
