A message from Stephen G. Emerson, M.D., Ph.D.
Director, Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center
Clyde Wu Professor of Immunology and Medicine
There is hardly a person whose life has not been touched by cancer. Many of us can share a story about how cancer has affected us and our loved ones. As one of the most common diseases in the United States, cancer knows few boundaries.
Yet today is an exciting moment for cancer research, when we can build upon the discoveries of the past twenty years and translate this knowledge into new or improved treatments to benefit patients and their families for generations.
Scientists at the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) are leading this vital fight to discover the best ways to find cancer and cure it, while our doctors are working every day to provide the best possible medical care to members of our community and beyond.
The HICCC exists for one reason only: to save lives. It is an honor to lead this dedicated team of doctors and scientists.
Together, we can fight cancer – and cure it.
Our doctors, scientists, nurses and other professional staff share one goal: to eliminate cancer. Won’t you join our team by supporting our efforts at the HICCC? There are a number of ways your help can make a difference in winning this fight.
Help the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at Columbia University Medical Center with a gift of cash and cash equivalents, whether as annual gifts, a one-time gift, or a gift pledged over a period of years.
