Yong-Guang Yang, MD, PhD


Dr. Yang is a Professor of Medical Sciences at Columbia University. He received his PhD in Immunology in 1991 from Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences, China. Dr. Yang spent about one and a half years (1992-1994) as a Visiting Scientist at the Mitsubishi Kagaku Institute of Life Sciences, Japan where he worked on molecular cloning of porcine T-cell receptors. He did his postdoctoral training in Transplantation Immunology in Dr. Megan Sykes’ laboratory in the Transplantation Biology Research Center at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston (1994-1997). Dr. Yang then worked as an Instructor, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School for 13 years, and joined the Faculty at Columbia University and the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology in 2010.

Dr Yang’s research involves allogeneic and xenogeneic transplantation immunology, stem cell transplantation, and humanized mouse models
