David Hart, MD specializes in pediatric hematology, particularly the treatment of patients with sickle cell anemia and thrombosis. He chose this field because of a fascination by how blood diseases develop and the ways they affect the body.

Dr. Hart completed medical school at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed his residency in pediatrics, as well as a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at New York University Medical Center.

Dr. Hart enjoys the challenge of solving diagnostic problems in pediatric hematology. He also loves teaching at Columbia as it allows him to teach medical students, residents, and fellows in pediatrics, and also the families of patients. Dr. Hart's goal is to provide expert diagnostic skills to enhance the care of patients and to train the next generation of pediatric hematologists.
