Introduction:

Dr. Matthen Mathew is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed fellowship training in Hematology and Medical Oncology at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, where he was appointed Chief Fellow.

He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the lung, head and neck. His research focuses on advancing new and more effective treatments for patients with these malignancies. This includes the development of novel drug combinations, targeted therapies and immunotherapies. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and is involved in clinical trials for head and neck cancer as well as lung cancer at Columbia University Medical Center.
