Lung Cancer: Our Approach and Expertise

The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia provides a unique multi-disciplinary approach to lung cancer. Our team, comprised of thoracic surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pulmonary medicine specialists, radiologists, and pathologists, offers the most in-depth care for lung cancer in the tristate area and routinely draws patients from across the nation, and worldwide.

Our physicians are known for coordinating and tailoring the ever-expanding diagnostic and therapeutic options available to the needs of every patient.

In addition to providing specific therapies for lung cancer, the lung cancer team is concerned with supporting the patient's quality of life. Therefore, we provide supportive measures such as pain management, anemia treatment, and use of bisphosphonates, as well as respiratory therapy and other ways to relieve local symptoms.  Patients may also benefit from the extensive complementary medicine services available at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia.
