2018 – 2019 K Award Development Seminars
We are pleased to announce that the 2018 – 2019 cycle of the K Award Development Seminars will begin on Tuesday, October 16th, 2018 and will run through May 14th, 2019.
These monthly seminars will be held at the New York State Psychiatric Institute/Pardes Building, 6th floor Multi-Purpose Room on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 9:00 am-10:00 am (with the exception of the May meeting which will be Tuesday, May 14th; 9:00 am – 10:30 am).
These seminars are to assist research fellows and junior faculty with preparing their proposal for a K Award, but also to expose the application process to those who are interested in learning more. Each monthly seminar has a faculty presenter or panel and focuses on a component of the K Award application. One of the seminars is a mock review, where seminar participants volunteer to have their applications reviewed by faculty and the class experiences a simulated review committee meeting.
To check out our resources, we encourage potential participants to visit the NYSPI K Class website: http://rfmh.nyspi.org/kad. (FYI- This site is accessible via NYSPI computers and some Columbia computers. If there is trouble accessing the site, copy the link into a browser and press return. After doing so, the link may only show as rfmh.nyspi.org. Then type /kad to the end of that site address and then press return.)
Please note that we are expecting participants to commit to the full cycle by attending each monthly seminar and be willing to share interim drafts for constructive comments.
